At Saint Paul's, we believe that spiritual formation is an important tenant of the faith. We offer a number of programs through which to enjoy both spiritual formation and community.
Adult Formation
Women's Bible Study
Women's bible study meets Wednesday mornings, 10:30 AM-12:00 PM, in the church office library. All women in the parish are invited to join. Throughout the year, the group chooses biblical texts or other spiritual, theological, or formational books to study and discuss with one another.
Men's Prayer Breakfast
Each Wednesday morning at 6:30am, men of the church gather in the parish hall for breakfast and conversation followed by bible study. The topics and leaders rotate throughout the year. This group also helps cook for many of our yearly events like Trunk-or-Treat and the parish picnic.
Benedictine Study Group
The Benedictine Study Group meets two times a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 12:00 PM in the Church office library, with the exception of holiday and summer schedules. The purpose behind the Benedictine Study Group is to learn more about the Benedictine way of life
and to strive to apply those principles in practical ways to our own daily lives. Benedict preached the importance of living mindfully and reconnecting with our Maker throughout each day, thereby opening ourselves to the holy in each moment of the day. Bring your lunch and join us!
Sunday School Offerings
During the program year, which aligns with the school year, adults can choose from a variety of Sunday School classes during our Formation Hour. Classes are led by clergy and other parish leaders on topics of scripture, faithful living, current issues, theology, and more. Each season will have new offerings.
Centering Prayer
Each Thursday at 12 PM in the Chapel of the Four Sisters, a small group of centering prayer practitioners from Saint Paul’s and elsewhere gather for silent prayer. This faithful group is open to all and welcomes new participants. Come for a few moments of quiet, peaceful stillness with God in the midst of this hectic and busy life.
Inquire
For those newly interested in Christianity and The Episcopal Church, or for those looking to renew their understanding of our faith and our traditions, Inquire serves as our newcomers and refreshers course to the faith. Those seeking membership in the church are recommended to attend to prepare for baptism, confirmation, or reception. Meeting dates and times vary by season. Please contact the church office for the next scheduled class.
Adult Community
Men's and Women's Retreats
The Men and Women of St. Paul's gather yearly for a spiritual retreat. Both the location and the theme of the retreats rotate depending on the interests and needs of the group, but there is always fellowship, fun, and refreshment at hand!
Annual Fellowship Gatherings
There are opportunities throughout the year for community gathering and building, including our Parish Picnic, Summer Fellowship Series, and Friendsgiving. Check out our Events page or the weekly emails for what's coming up next!
Episcopal Church Women
Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is a national organization of women in The Episcopal Church. St. Paul’s has a local ECW chapter that all women are welcome to join. The focus of ECW is supporting women and children in the church, building up women to serve as leaders in the church, and frequently to host and serve at church events throughout the year, including our Confirmation reception. If you would like to know more about ECW, please contact the president of our local chapter, Toni Riley.
